Re: collared shirt under turtleneck sweater - I agree with your take on this. It seems uncomfortable and, to me, just the most recent example of the flavor of the month sprezzatura. No disrespect intended to any of your other readers; if it works for you, that’s great! Maybe I’ll give it a try some day and eat my words.
Re: buying clothes on 2nd hand sites - I’ve been using gem.app recently. It searches and turns up results from a long list of secondhand marketplaces. I’ve not used it yet to make a purchase, but it seems an efficient tool for searches and email alerts.
Eric Twardzik wrote a fun piece for Robb report recently about what to wear under a turtleneck - seems to be some strong opinions on the topic! That being said, the collared shirt under the turtleneck was noted as a strong recent trend from Pitti Uomo - I’m personally pretty neutral on the look myself, but can’t get past what I imagine to be quite a bit of tightness at the neck.
Yeah those are basically a perfect match for they style for sure. I don’t own anything from them but will definitely keep them in mind going forward - the products look great
I actually have been intrigued by the dress shirt under the rollneck look, so much so that I tried it out yesterday! It looked a lot better than I thought it would, I probably will wear it again. The key I think is to wear a spread collar shirt, as button downs or spearpoint collars will protrude way too far.
Good to hear that it works well - I think one of the big things that was throwing me off was the assumption that there was some level of tucking the collar in, which seems like it would be uncomfortable against the neck. I Hadn’t even considered a spread collar, but that makes way more sense

Looking forward to your next dispatch!
Also just checked out gem.app - it looks like a game-changer. Streamlining the vintage/second-hand search process like that is a great idea

Always a fan of Eric’s writing and opinions!
Velasca is another great alternative for the suede boots & loafers. Here are a couple examples. https://www.velasca.com/products/flizzon-tdms - boots

I own several pairs of their shoes and can vouch for their style, comfort, & value.
